Sorry folks, been up me goolies with homework, but I have two people to meet regarding the site soon, one local, keep you posted. thumbright

I know what you mean about homework. I got the opportunity of a place on a free Spanish class given by Stillorgan Library and thoough great it is difficult to study after 50 years away from classes!!

Good luck with the computer people. It would give the site the well needed boost and start a new interest in it.

Keep at the course. I'm sure you are learning and enjoying as well as sharing ideas which is the big thing in the art world.

That’s great news Strum . I’m sure you’ll be relieved to get it sorted and a regular maintenance plan set up .
I’m sure there are a lot of people who look in here regularly but haven’t registered or perhaps they tried and were unable to . If you can get it all sorted I’m sure there will be many new arrivals . I’ve gotten sidetracked myself but I will try to log in more and contribute . This site is worth keeping for the historical info alone . Hi everyone ;)

Hi folks, apologies for not being around even to update you but I still can't find anybody with an interest in the site but I'll keep on it. Just wondering if any of you ever emailed Treborky about the site and maybe have one saved with his email address?

I never replied to this. I only contacted him through the site with donations.

Big thing that annoys me is the number of people who look into this site and don't join and contribute. I put up a bit of a post the other day and already it has been viewed 50 times. Imagine the excitement if those 50 joined and told us their stories !!

Correct rocker I got a bit peed off recently after posting on a few topics which were viewed and not replyed to
I understand people may not find the topic intresting but as common courtesy maybe bit of an effort and Im guilty of this too how are we going to keep the site "alive"if we don't make an effort fair play to yourself you 're great for engaging.

I did make a donation previously but I cannot see where the facility exists to donate now. If its made known I will gladly donate.

I'm guilty!
However, most of the time I haven't a clue to what anyone is referring, especially politics, local government and dining out etc.
Once upon a time we had general discussions, to which I could contribute. Over the past couple of years the topics have taken on a political tone, about which I know nothing. Also the moan topic(which is excellent) refers again to items of which I know nothing. So, sorry if I just look in, but I love the site and the people on it.
That said, Merry Christmas everyone and keep in mind that the world is really one country.

Merry Christmas Bugs xxx you'll be getting Christmas Day before us!!

I was just thinking today as I listened to the radio that things are really changed in Ireland. All our stuff now comes from the supermarket, clean and nicely presented in different quantities. My da was a great whist player and coming up to Christmas he went to all the whist drives with the express reason of getting the Christmas Ham and Turkey and anything else that they gave as prizes. I remember him arriving home with an unplucked turkey with the head neck inside and outsides intact!!He hung it on a nail in the scullery and it was there for about a week until they got around to plucking it. None of your health or safety then ...the newspapers on the floor were to catch the …. but it tasted amazing when cooked. Everything was hard work the ham was bubbling in one pot the plumb pudding boiling in another. The children today have no idea what it was like and don't want to know when auld wans like me "remember"!!  but, we could smell the turkey off our clothes for six months after Christmas!!
