OK folks. yes big brother is watching, the server got a complaint about assassinating the American President from this site and closed it down until I got down on my knees and begged them to reconsider. notworthy
After I informed them that it was a Northsider that said it, they apologised for the misunderstanding and here we are again.

Nah just kidding.

I was baffled myself but here's Treborkys response to me today.

You may have noticed the site was down for a few days. It's now back online - there was unpaid fees which are now paid. We'll need to rally some donations again. Good news is that the ads have generated €70 in revenue over the last few years which can be put towards the costs.
I'll send on details later and then get back to looking at the issues with the quota system. We may need to do some upgrades on the site to get to a newer version of the software which runs the site.
For some reason I was not automatically notified but I will setup some stuff to monitor the site and ensure it's online.

So folks I'll leave that with you to chew on and if you need to find out about site costs etc, simply contact Treborky with a PM. ;)

There are some who just don't have enough real life to occupy themselves.
I can see nothing wrong with what Steve Martin wrote, in fact I think it was
a great tribute to here in just a short sentence. There is nought as strange
as folks. Wonder what they would have done had he said she was a 'dimwit'.

Well haven't some people got little to moan about. Most Hollywood stars are killing to be recognised as "beautiful". I must say when I meet anyone I am attracted to their looks then as I get to know them their personality, intelligence, wit etc come into focus.

Am I shallow or what??

Yes, and she knew the Mr President as well, all joking aside I believe she had a sad life, used and abused by not so nice men.

Yes Keeper, I would agree with you, she did make some very bad choices and
there were lots of people ready and willing to take advantage of her.

Meant to say ...that is a great picture of Monkstown Hospital. It is very dim in my memory though we always went there and my Ma was in there for a year near death's door but surgeon Lane saved her...Gosh that was over 60 years ago!! seems like yesterday.Dr Lane was a genius and one sound man. Everyone loved him.

I meant to comment too. The minute I saw that picture, I got a distinct whiff of disinfectant.

Great find.

Rocker, Dr David Lane only died in late 2015, he was an accomplished musician and played the oboe. He was also a keen sailor, poet, gardener and photographer and very well regarded by his peers.

Strum:

The Portal picture is fantastic, the park as I remember it from childhood, when we never touched the flowers for fear of the Park Ranger, Mr. Kelly.

I wonder was that because we didn't have such gorgeous displays of trees, shrubs and flowers in our own homes and really appreciated these public spaces where we got a glimpse of "another life"? We used to stand and watch the gardners at work in Blackrock Park and ask the names of the plants etc. They always had time to share their knowledge. It was a much simpler life but we would never have dreamed of tampering with any displays.

Great photo Strum!!

Thanks a lot folks, it took a while to get that far. I'll be mounting them all on this painted 5ft board with cut-out railing spikes, and yes I'd love to see it somewhere prominent but got to finish it first. Keep you posted. Cheers. ;)

Love that black and white shot of the Knox Hall on the Portal. Would you believe I was never inside it !We always felt you had to be CofI to use it but, now that there is very little religion around I'm sure that no longer pertains.
