I would look at your definitions and pay attention to Part 2 Sect 6.
Also I would consider Part 3 Sect 24.As you have taken responsibility as an admin I would read this Act and research further.
In addition Part 3 Section 20 may be of interest to you.

Holy moley, now I know I knew nothing like I thought I did about Tort law. I had to read that first, and what a read.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tort

Notice a link for Irish Tort Law and there's no info at the link?? And Tort of defamation includes invasion of privacy.

That's an eyeopener, bookmarked for further reading. Good one GT.

I take it back Ender, you're a lovely chap altogether. :D

it would be very interesting if Edna were to take a case against anyone here that slags him off ..... firstly it would support that theory that we are all being watched, secondly it would also be interesting to as to how they could identify the actual typist and thirdly I wonder what the public reaction to such a move by a politician against any internet used would be.

There are so many chat sites and forums, it could well open the flood gates to all sort of actions and to be perfectly honest .... I doubt if it would ever happen as the one thing that all Politicians fear is losing popularity. Yes, the Law is there but in my opinion it would take one one astronomical jump in viewing numbers for any of us ol' codgers comments here to be recognised nationally as a threat to anyone in politics.

Read the act Toss.A remedy is a simple apology placed in a national newspaper or the medium in which the defammatory statement was originally made. This remedy is used frequently.

She wants to talk about 'Educating our Children for the future' ..... maybe we could go along and ask some Frank questions, it seems to be an open debate after all.

Hi Bugrock. My apologies for not replying sooner.I think that I have met your mind, if not yourself in person.I'm sure the latter would be as interesting as the former.I wasn't around in 1962 but I wouldn't mind a return ticket to ride! A bit of poetic licence! :D

A little indulgence if I may. Just to let you know.
For someone called Claire, who lifted my spirits so high, and Patricia for backing her up.

Well am I a saddo or waht. I sat and watched the budget speech yesterday. Some things really got to me. The drone, lack lustre tone of Michael Noonan and that unnecessary "dig" at paul Murphy. Howlin also gave snide digs, The amount of T.D's in the house. The amount of them looking at their mobiles. The parting in Mary Lous hair! Your man Harris the left hander behind Noonan kept writing and driumming on the desk. The shine off the Fianna Faul leaders tie when it caught the light, Loads of new faces I have never seen in the chambers...they must all get their pay paid into the bank ...Poor Mick looked as dishevalled as ever. The teaset gave some very sideways odd looks at Howling, very hooded not my cup of tea.

The content got me riled but I won't go on and on...suffice to say the old and vulnerable are still on trollies in the corridor and they are having meetings upstairs with tea and bikkies......

wuu all too true Rocker, they are all laughing up their sleeves as RTE et al are spinning the greatest budget ever story ..... and sadly the sheeple will forget all the lies and broken promises. It really is a two faced world we live in, only ten days ago we had an outpouring of grief about how the people in rural Ireland were being targetted by armed traveller gangs .... theres no mention of that today. We have Hospitals closing down their A&E sections, refusing ambulances due to overcrowding, again there is no mention of addressing this disgraceful problem (best ignore the nurses as well btw). The millions spent on Eircode is just the latest in a LONG line of stupid wasteful decisions by politicians who never get any repercusions for such a waste of public monies. We have homeless people dying on the streets, yet the best our leaders can do is offer temporary accommodation in prefabricated buildings ..... the same style buildings that just went up in flames killing 10 travellers, but lets not talk about that eh. Oh yeah .... wait till the water grant disappears and the REAL charges appear, lets see how far your budget 'buy a vote' money gets you aawhip

We used to have a topic "Travellers as an ethic group" but, it must have gone.

I was heartbroken when the travellers were burned to death in Glenamuck my they Rest in Peace. I have been trying to find out what is happening with a permanent site for the remaining family.

Came across this on the DLRcoco site. At least ...

http://www.dlrcoco.ie/newsevents/latest ... 57,en.html

We all were reared and went to school with our local travellers and I feel that not enough of us so called "settled folk" understand the problem
