Rocker, still a shame you didn't make to Australia. Reckon we'd make a good team - with Jaytee and Dancer in tow

Two English teachers had joined us on this jaunt they stood opened mouthed

Denis, thank you for referring to me as a 'girl' mentally I am that but not physically.
Skins, never wanted to live anywhere other than Dun Laoghaire. Sometimes I regret
not going to the US for a couple of years but had I gone then I would not be the person
I am.

I agree with Denis - it's always the girls and the lads regardless of age

I will hardly change now.

Many years ago I got into trouble for calling a customer "the girl at the counter". She was only about 20 but I was told to call her lady. I could not do it.

I still feel 21 so in my mind I am 21.

Am I right girls?

You're dead right NM, I still feel 18 on the inside & get a shock sometimes when I pass a mirror & my mothers looking back at me.No disrespect to my lovely mother , who says exactly the same thing happens to her...her mothers looking out at her.

Oh Bugrock,

You have the auld DunLaoghaire charm too. Where are the kisses in the smilies !!! xx
I don't think any of us grows up inside. I still think I can climb a tree...then I am half way up...whaaaaa.
God we all turn into our mothers...I will never look like her...am on the father's side...but, I go on and on like her!!!
Wish I could sing and do the "take offs" like her...she missed her acting vocation!!

Rocker, while you were holidaying on MY doorstep I was on the roof tiling and running cables and god knows what else. Most days I can just about get around like Mrs Brown. And last week I was Dee Jaying for the local football and cricket club. Disco, Techno, Hoppo and the like. Don't talk to me about feeling like a young wan when I'm wall to wall in dancing, drunken, #orny young sheilas gyratin' around me DJ Station. Oh, the pain - the pain! :P :P :P :P

Bugrock,

Sounds great  Gawd is it as hot in Australia as it was in Cambodia over 40degrees. I nearly melted what with the mosquitos and the deet spray and the malaria tablets yuck I was delighted to get home to the lovely winds and sea breeze. I wasn't made for the tropics. Though HID hardly knew me I kept moaning to the minimum!!! (I surprised myself too) I'll make up for it now I'm home.

Rocker, I was only saying I'm gettin' too old in the body, but not the head. I'm an awful stopout and just won't give in to age, nor will the fans let me. I should be settled in an old folks home, except I think and act like you. Yes it's been slightly warm here, and we rub alcohol in our insides to keep the mozzies at bay. Just noticed this year a growing number of snake catchers in the area. Must be a rising business in this economic climate. Gawd, I look like shit in shorts, I'll have to get a thong for the hot days! x  X  X

Ah it all coming out now Rocker. You never mentioned the down side in your earlier posts about Cambodia -
snakes . . .nearly melting with the heat . . . mosquitos . . . . malaria . . . .

Maybe Courtown isn't that bad after all

Micheál,

Can't tell all the downsides...did I mention Dengue fever?? I was so nervous about visiting Cambodia I had a walking medicine chest with me. I was telling a girl in the shop the other night about our trip and she told me that her fella caught the dengue fever there some years ago and is lucky to have survived!! Gawd, just as well I didn't meet her before we went.
Ah Courtown !! we went there after the leaving to a caravan in a field and lived on 10 shillings for the week...we brought a cooked chicken and stole lettuce out of fields for meals!! Only a big windy up phone in the town!! Great dances. Wonder where those Dominican girls are now?? Gawd, the high jinks 44 years ago.

We snuck off for a few days in France and have been surprised by most things. We went off beat to Toulouse, Limoges, Claremont Ferraund ans Nimes. Have found really inexpensive hotels good standard..great food...mid prices...great wines...not bad but beer is expensive!Train travel is spot on andthere is no downhearted moaning about recession though wages are really poor for the high cost of items in the shops .The average fellow in a bar is getting 1,200 per month doing long hours! .Beauty products are much more expensive than in Ireland..'m flabbergasted at how much dearer each item is..at least three to four Euro each product.Worst part is the patchy wi fi for catching up on what yis are up to. ;)
