The xthing is so commercialised nowadays. From about August the stuff is in the shops. By the time xday arrives the novelty has worn off it. Now as for this Black Friday lark !! That is a load of (something else). Before the recession people went to N.Y and shopped till they dropped buying all kinds of "labels" at freezing cold malls and up and down Fifth Ave. As they say here "it's far from that we were reared" A big bit O.T.T.
The 8th December should kick off the xthing. Put up the tree and the decorations. Write the cards and start the parties. wuu wuu. The other lark of business' closing for two weeks etc into the New Year is daft. Nothing gets going again till mid January. We are like Bears hibernating......Oh Gawd....not the Bear again........ hellllo

Love it love it love it, can't start early enough for me :P wuu , Rocker I got some great bargains today ;) I didn't go mad buying, but got the perfume I love for 21.00 euro it's usually 65 euro delighted with myself, so I bought 2 bottles  I was in New York a few years back for Black Friday Shopping.....never ever again it was manic and most of the stuff was rubbish anyway, I lost a bag in the melee in one of the shops with 200 $ worth of Crystal Ornaments I had bought not 10 mins before I was devastated because I reckon I knew who had them  but when your in a different country what do you do, the security fella on the door didn't give sh## either. :(

PS, I have all my prezzies bought and wrapped, will do the cards over the weekend, and the Tree is going up next week wuu .....

Well here in the U.S. the whole Black Friday thing was in full swing today. I did visit the shops but I wasn't looking for stuff for myself. A friend of mine is a rather large guy and finds it difficult to get 3XL clothes in Ireland, so I took the opportunity to get him a few things here. Trouble was I had to wade through the the 8XL stuff to find his size, I kid you not. Now tomorrow is Small Shop Day, where you help the local shops and Monday is Cyber Monday, yikes, I won't have a red cent left, buddy can you spare a dime. Oh and just to cheer you lot up, it's hissing rain here at the moment.

My Da used to go into Moore St on X eve and get any bargains that the dealers had left them to Hector Grey for more stuff and then Bewleys for an almond ring....heaven then home to wrap them up....those were the days.

Being enigmatic, I have mixed feelings about BGQHRSLZR. dontknow
I love the family gathering, the giving and receiving of presents, the joyous occasion.
I dislike the sheer volume of work preparing for DISJTUNBT dontknow and on the day itself.....all the shopping, it seems endless.....the clean-up......
I think I like Stephen's Day better.....(hopefully) relaxing in front of the telly......no pressure....great!
It's early doors, but I hope everyone has a really lovely 3 8 18 9 19 20 13 1 19.

Today, Chr###mas FM finally took to the air to play the cheesy goodness that is Christmas songs and to raise awareness and funds for Make-A-Wish Ireland.

Dublin City / County - 94.3FM ........... The station is running from today until St. Stephen's Day and, if you're not in the country, you can listen live on ChristmasFM.com.
