Cheers guys, Jordo if you send that link on I can pass it on to Marshy one of the guys in the photo , he is well up on the history of teh brigade so would say he'd be able to source a lot of relevant information.

Is there any text of their Belfast trip - just the Dun Laoghaire experience?
Has Marchy any published or unpublished material
In particular, if this quote can be substantiated?
Gasworks vacuum - To a Dún Laoghaire (Dublin area) fireman the most haunting sight were not the horribly wounded dead, but those without a blemish. When the city’s gasworks exploded, there was a temporary vacuum.[citation needed][clarification needed] This smothered all fires and all life. Windows, slates, and all loose material were sucked from the houses. Those inside, mostly still lying in their beds, were lifeless, their eyes wide open with fright, and their mouths wide open seeking a breath.[citation needed]

I'm a Brigade enthusiast myself Trev M. My Uncle Enviro has me hooked on them every since they days of watching Londons Burning and I have many a piece of Dublin and London Fire Brigade memoribilia. I was wondering if you or anyone else had pictures of the Old Dun Laoghaire fire Station back when it actually was one, the one in off York Road. I remember it well as a fire station and when Kill avenue opened but dont ever remember seeing an engine come out of the old one or seen inside it having been inside KOTG may times

I agree, even for silly little jobs like rescuing our pomeranian who got his head stuck in a garden gate..that was embarrassing  but they got him out, and we had a good laugh :D ....their comment..'Well, it was different' . What would we do without 'em
