Teddy

Post by Sputnik » Sun May 02, 2010 11:39 pm

I was talking to a friend on the phone from Dublin last night and he told me that Teddy (of Teddy's Ice cream) died last week. He heard it on the radio on Friday and thought he should let me know.
A true Dun Laoghaire character and institution passes on.
Thanks for the memories.
Waken me for meals.

Yeah Sputnik heard it myself but couldn't find anything on the 'Net about it (and still can't) so thought I had misheard it.

Teddy's,

Is my first point of call on my every return home, and home it is sure, it never leaves you...... I do at least three visits there, not much business for him from me sadly but the best Ice Cream in the world..Sad indeed... I remember Paul Ashford's single "One in Every" Town talking about Teddys even then...Another famous Dun Laoghaireite left us, eh !!!!

I hope I can get my Ice Cream cone in two weeks..That reminds me , I have about four Hicks Sausage and Pudding orders to pick up as well. another smuggling job ahead of me.....

99 if you were lucky Grammer! Yeah those q's on a Sunny Sunday were mad.

Y'know Sputnik I never knew there was an actual Teddy (never thought of it) and I would never have been able to put a face on him.

Heard on the radio the other day that he,d sold up a few years ago but obviously the new owners were able to keep the name.

Ah, Misty that's sad...you mean to say that if some hunk of a guy spoonfed you some ice cream while "blindfolded"...you would still say....Yuck ;) :) :)
