Well I'm still banging away    music   wise that is.
found me old song writer pen a little while ago -so it's back to making songs up(or song writing   )
heres me latest

Kitty
Now all the guys loved Kitty She was fair tall and pretty
She worked in the local bar 3 nights a week
Well she would brighten up a dark weary day
And all the people would say
Hey Kitty will you sing –“Stand by your man”(with the band)

Now the only thing about Kitty Who was tall fair haired and pretty
Her voice sounded like a banshee’s wail
The band would call upon Kitty Who was tall fair haired and pretty
Upon the stage to sing a song or two
Now those brave enough to sit and listen Would shout holler and whistle
And call on Kitty to sing “Stand by your man”
So Kitty would stop serving beer and grinning from ear to ear
She would introduce her first song
Now dedicated to her man –his name was Dan
Now Dan was short fat and grumpy his nose was large flat and lump
It covered most of his face but it seemed really out of place
To all those guys who were standin outside the door
=
While the crowd roared for more the guys outside the door
Would snigger and titter and roll around the floor
With big tears rollin down their faces
With Dan they all would like to change places
They all hated “Stand by your man
=======================
And she would sing
Stand by my man-his name is Dan
he's my apple dumpling -he's my country pumpin
and I'll stand by my man as often as I can
I'll always stand by my man
=======
While the crowd roared for more the guys outside the door
Would snigger and titter and roll around the floor
With big tears rollin down their faces
With Dan they all would like to change places
They all hated “Stand by your man

     and theres more

Now JJ Kelly lived in Co. Kerry
Worked with his father on the farm
There wasn’t that much money And to JJ that wasn’t funny
Cos he had his eye on Mary from Glencairn
But suddenly came the day
When Mary came a callin’
With her Daddy and a she had a big bump
Now JJ felt quite sick and very quick Turned and ran down the road to the pub.
==
I will in me Nellie marry Mary Skelly
I didn’t put her in the puddin’ club
I wasn’t even there so why should I care
Im goin off down to the pub
==========
So off to the USA headed our JJ
He joined the 7th cavalry
He fought in many battles across the west until that fateful day
He heard Custer say we're on our way “we’re off to the Little Big Horn”
Now JJ felt quite sick and turned very quick
And headed back off to the pub
=======================
I will in me Nellie He said to Sgt. Shelley
With all the courage he could muster
There’s no way I’m goin’ there we would’nt have a prayer.
So up yours and Gen. Custers
=
=Now JJ Kelly made a fortune in oil
And headed back home to Kerry
One day on the street who did he meet but the lovely Mary Skelly
Now she looked quite sweet so to her he did greet
“howya doin Mary”?
“Well Hello JJ how do you do
I named me second child after you”

Grammer I cannot go onto the site for some reason. McAffee keeps blocking it.

Must get onto their support and see how to unblock the site.

Today
the 11th November -we should pause and remember all those who gave their lives in the service of our country in all wars.
Sorry the vid is a bit iffy
I should have spent a little more time with it.
the tune is a cover of an old Eagles tune
"I dreamed there was no war."

Grammer,
That is a lovely piece of music.

Can I ask a question. Where is the plaque on the wall that mentions lifting the anchor. I used scuba dive with 2 of the people mentioned - Noel Brien and Fred Hick.

Kinda like this song
so I had to have a go-not that i like ballads or .....
http://app.box.com/s/wzb2mfaxprqmlq9u8cdb

Here's another one of mine -it's gonna be on my new CD -when I win the Lotto
The Christmas Tree song
Well I climbed up in the attic
And I took down the tree
The thought just struck me
Why it’s just always me
Well I put it altogether
And it looked just fine
So I stepped back and then I saw the time
Chorus
So I went into the kitchen and had myself a beer
I raised my glass to friends who are not here
I wish you all a jolly good time
And hope your Christmas will be just fine
=
Now I put on the baubles and the fairy queen
All the little elves and the in-betweens
I Put on the glitter and it looked just fine
So I looked at the clock and it was nearly nine.
Chorus
So then I opened up the box of lights
300 of them they were all coloured and bright
But they were in a jumble and knots you see
So I threw them down and cursed them you see
Chorus
Now I put the lights are back in the box
A thousand curses on them and the pox
I goin’ off down to the Christmas draw
And have a beer with Billy McGrath
