My deepest sympathy to Tommy's family and friends on their loss. One of the main reasons I ended up registering on this site was reading Tommy's posts and sensing his lover of music and his wit. He leaves us all with some great memories (in word and deed) that will last forever.
This is tragic news, he cheered me up on the site and privately as well. He will be missed greatly, condolences to his family, sadly I won't be able to attend his funeral as I'm away but he will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for the music Grammer, Rest in Peace.
I am so very sorry to hear that Tommy has passed. Grammer was a great friendly sort, he always cheered me up when we would meet. He was a super musician, he could do anything with a guitar. I enjoyed so much singing with him in the music club, he will be dearly missed by all his friends. My sincere condolences to his family at this difficult time. RIP Grammer
I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered. - George Best 1946-2005
I am deeply saddened to read that Tommy or as he was more affectionately known , Grammer has passed .
When I first stumbled upon this site , I had no Dun Laoghaire connections but he welcomed me
with open arms and always made me feel as if I was indeed part of the Borough. We had many a chat both on and off the site
and I have some of his recordings that he shared with me. He was always at me to help him "Stir the pot" and I usually ended up
getting myself into mischief . Rest in peace my friend and stay gold.......

I was born with an enormous need for affection, and a terrible need to give it.
I never met Tommy. It was only through a few PM's about music, and tracks he sent me, that I knew him.
One of my best wishes was to have maybe played with him in the Club. His music will play on in my car, as I pray it will in another world.
It's odd missing someone I never met.
Rock on, Tommy!
If it don't make your ears bleed, it ain't rock 'n' roll!
Vale Tommy ( Grammer) Knox . I will miss his pm’s and postings indeed . We met up when I was home in 2012 , had a few beers and waxed lyerical over a few singin* styles . I have a few music pm’s he sent me with “ what do ya think” ?
I remember him fondly and my commiserations go to his family at this time . Farewell Tommy a beautiful spirit returned to the cosmos.
The passing of Grammer aka Tommy Knox is sad news indeed at a time when being with family is of utmost importance. I did not know him but I had a few conversations with him on this platform which indicated to me a man with spirit and intelligence. My condolences to his family and close friends, may he rest in peace.
Have just been with Grammer's family and they ask me to thank all of you for your
condolences, prayers and words of comfort. They are all very moved by the posts and
will reread them later.
For various reasons I haven't logged on in a while, and was prompted to today for no particular reason. Very sorry to read of Grammer's passing. Before I became a member here I browsed the site many times and Grammer was always to the fore with his comments and views. I never met him, but I got the impression that he was a man of strong principles with a deep sense of justice and fair play. We are all the better for knowing him and all the worse for losing him. RIP.

Well the funeral of dear grammer took place this morning. The rain cleared off and the sun started to shine as they played a "Tommy on the guitar" song. A sad, sad day for his family to whom I offer my condolences.
I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.

Rocker's post says it all. Tommy had a good send off this morning and the icing was his own
singing just before he was taken from the Church. Great sadness but Thank God he is out
of his pain. He fought a long hard fight.
To all his family my condolences.
Yes it was a beautiful ceremony, yet so sad, the Harpist was lovely. To hear Tommy singing at the end was, well what can I say Sorry I didn't get to meet up with any of you, but honestly the only one I did see was Sinead but you were deep in conversation at the time and I was getting a lift from a friend who had to hurry off. RIP Tommy
Life isn't tied with a Bow, But it's still a Gift.
Can't believe this very sad news about our dear friend Tommy, may you rest in peace my friend, I will miss your emails with your guitar playing attachments.
Sorry I didn't have time to chat or have a coffee with you after the funeral
yesterday. I had two visits to make before lunch time. Perhaps we will
meet and chat under happier circumstances and raise a cup to GRAMMER a.k.a Tommy Knox.
Perhaps the gig promised by Strum is the place to remember him. Please
organise this sooner rather then later.
Sad to hear of the death of Mrs Margaret Caviston (Granny) in her 97th year. I remember her gentle presence around Caviston's shop in Glasthule. May she rest in peace.

May she rest in peace, I knew Mrs caviston and her late husband John, I remember meetings them at my aunt's funeral a good few years ago and was curious to know the connection they told me they used live beside her in o Rourke park sallynoggin in the early years of marriage small world.
