HAYDEN ANCESTORS

Post by 62donno » Mon Mar 06, 2017 10:02 pm

HI EVERYONE . I DON'T ACTUALLY LIVE IN IRELAND BUT I AM CURRENTLY WORKING ON THE HAYDEN FAMILY TREE. THE ONLY INFORMATION I HAVE AT PRESENT IS THAT QUITE A FEW HAYDEN ANCESTORS LIVED IN THE SALLYNOGGIN AREA / HONEYPARK COTTAGES/ EDEN TERRACE. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT MAY KNOW ANY DESCENDANTS THAT MAY BE STILL LIVING IN THE AREA ? . I WOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR ANY INFORMATION HOWEVER SMALL. MANY THANKS

Grammer might be your man to answer that one. I can recall Archie Hayden who lived in Honeypark, years ago.

Hi

Yes a result ! Archie Hayden from HoneyPark ( Arthur Patrick Hayden) was my husband's godfather. Hopefully may be able to trace his children /grandchildren (if any).
Many thanks for that info.

As far as I can recall Archie wasn't married. He was a bus driver who was involved in a serious accident, in which he suffered head injuries which he was very lucky ro survive. He had a nephew, Lesley, who lived in Monkstown, and attended school with me for a while; but I haven't heard anything about him since that time. As I said in my previous post......Grammer, a member on here, lived quite close to Honeypark, and might be able to fill in more details about the family. I have an idea that Archie might have resided with a married sister.

That's right Skins Archie Hayden never married he worked on the pier in Dun Laoghaire I never remember him being a bus driver he lived
with his sister Marina in Honeypark. Marina is still living in the same house I was only talking to her before Christmas. I heard years ago
Archie was involved in a motor bike crash and he was badly injured but he lived and worked for many years after that

Thanks guys, we had Marina on the family tree !! ( although not as Archie's sister) so our first amendment... Last week, I wrote to the occupier of Archie's old address (as we assumed he lived alone) , so hopefully it will be Marina that replies.... I will check with Grammer see if he can help out with any info.. Being new to the site do I post a message to him on here ?

Hope you enjoy being a part of it.
I have been out of Sallynoggin many years now but I will agree with the info above-Re Archie and Marina --

Hi donno and welcome to the site. There is a family named Hayden living in O'Rourke Park, Sallynoggin at the moment. Sorry I don't know any of their names. I could get a name and exact address and pm you that info if you wish.

I personally don't remember them, but they are included in this post, along with Haydens in Eden Villas: http://dunlaoghairecounty.ie/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1736

Checked that out earlier. Elizabeth at Eden Terrace was the last of 4 Aunts that lived there. Thomas I think was a son of one of them. Will check out the Haydens at Eden Villas . Thanks Skins

I know I posted this on this site before but here goes.

Ailbe Hayden worked for Mr. Gordon, in Gibleys in the 1940's/50's until the shop closed. The shop was on the
block between Mulgrave Street and Northumberland Avenue probably where ECCO is now.
Ailbe delivered the orders on a messengers bike with a big wicker basket on the front which was divided to take
the bottles.
He lived in Glasthule and to my knowledge he never married. In later life he marked the board in Terry Rogers
Betting Office in Dun Laoghaire.

Welcome to the site and good luck with your search.

Hi Sinead
Thank you for the welcome. I notice that that you named him Albie ?. Should this be Archie or is it another Hayden? .
Many thanks for the info.

I have moved your post to a different forum Donno. It doesn't effect anything and will still show up on the portal page as a new post. thumbright
