Hi Rocker

The sad thing is there are no Chefs employed in any JDWs anywhere in the UK or Ireland. Everything and I mean everything comes in pre-packed frozen. Even the fried eggs are cooked off site in bulk and frozen. Would you honestly in your right mind eat a frozen fried egg?
The only skill required to prepare food in JDWs is not to be colour blind as the colour dictates the amount of time each item needs to be reheated for. A low IQ Chimp could put a meal together in Wetherspoons. If its pup food you want Bakers and McCormacs do a grand job.
Their crisps and peanuts are alright.

Like I said below Rocker it looks to me like pre-cooked and microwaved. Why do you think it takes so little time to be served. ;)

Absolutely sure no doubt about it, right down to the fried eggs. The problem these days are most restaurants will have a certain amount of pre-packed food, however the fast food joints are the worst. Cheap labour cheap food. All chains achieve the same menu due to mass production off site, so I avoid the chains as a rule. Best going where you can see it being cooked. I had a laugh in a hotel in Manchester recently when the menu said "tonight's special Home Made Irish Stew" I asked the waiter whose home was it made in? He looked confused. I said Id like to know as the hotel was clearly home to no one it had to be made in some place else i.e. someone's home. And furthermore I need to know that the persons home its made in has the same high standards of hygiene in their kitchen as the Hotel has. He looked like he'd been hit by a 46A when Id finished with him. Hugely relieved when I told him I was taking the piss. I told him not to worry as I knew the chef and I know his house is clean. I gave up at that point, it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

I for one am always moaning about the health service but, I have been proven wrong about many things!!
Being a lot overweight I was referred to the PHEW Programme. A six weeks course run by the HSE. Wonderful. Such information and tips. I think I know a lot but there is always so much more to learn. Check out the course...

Fantastic that NUIG held a virtual graduation yesterday, that gives us quite a number of new medics to help out at the moment. I am sure the overseas students will also stay in Ireland, they have no means of returning to their home countries.

What a baptism it will be for them, an experience they'll never forget. Best of luck to them.

Not being a Doctor or having any medical knowledge to speak of has never stopped me from looking up Dr Google (the worst thing you can do in honesty) and about a decade ago I read about onions being good for combating flu. It allegedly stems from some story about a German village where none of the residents caught the Spanish flu that killed so many back in the day as they were all onion farmers.

Being a natural cynic but a nosey one, sure enough I caught a dose some time later that year and decided to put the remedy to the test. At this stage I was well bunged up and struggling to get a nights sleep despite lemsips etc so I chopped up an onion and put it in the netting bag they came and placed it beside my head in the bed. It stunk the room out, but I got a great night sleep. Since then I have used the onion at the first sign of a blocked nose ..... I have no idea how they work or what it does but I am a convert now and have converted other along the way. I say this not as a cure all, but maybe, just maybe any one with breathing issues might like to try it.

Stay safe.

Toss, when we were young my mother boiled onions in milk and gave it to us as a drink if we had the sniffles.
Must try your trick when I next have a blocked nose.
When we had cabbage you got a cup/glass of the water to drink to give you iron.
How many other things were we put through that we have forgotten?
