Thanks Enviro, I was out there on Saturday, very helpful people indeed. They hadn't got a copy but told me the book is soon to be reprinted. I will keep in touch with them though.

I`ve been trying to find out more about Jordo`s lifeboat story, my interest is because the name Tallant of which is not that common and that was my Mothers maiden name, anyway I came across this picture. If Sandycove had a lifeboat "Station" where exactly would it have been? Where the old "sandycove" baths were perhaps.

Those pics are great finds Toby. I dont know where the lifeboat station was but its highly unlikely it had to negotiate the little outlet in the first pic. I couldnt imagine anyone swimming on the day that was taken, not even the diehards!

The first one is just beside the Baths, people used to dive into the water from the wall on the right
Just looking at the second one Toby, there has been a court case just last week about some of the land on the left of the pic, and it was sold to a well known TV personality ( ) for an undisclosed amount of money.

I'd imagine it was where the bathing place was. There is still a slipway into to water there.

There you go! You never know what they are looking for, just depends on the Judges. Have you a sample of the winner Grammer?
