On the Northern Ireland news on UTV, they said that over the past week, it has actually been colder up there than Moscow! I'm assuming the same probably applies to down here. Never thought I'd see temperatures in the 'minuses' of double figures. It's like being in Canada again (only their cold is a 'dry' cold and doesn't go through you as much, and they have the equipment to deal with it!). I remember one day over there, my mother-in-law said, without a trace of irony..."Oh it's -22 at the moment, but don't worry, later in it is forecast to warm up to -8!" I was like "Oh well that's alright then!".

Great pics Strum but I have to say that you're very cruel to them poor Guinnesses would not bring them in from the cold,or if you like I'll come up and give them a warm home. See,despite me nickname, I'm still an old softie

Another good thing about the snow is that it plays havoc with the 'macadam and reveals little gems like this. This is the Sandymount line southbound just this (city) side of Ringsend and may not have seen the light of day in half a century or more.

If I,m not too sleepy I,ll hopefully see exactly where you took that photo from on Tuesday morning Jordo as I,ll be on that same road. Amazing to think that our history is buried a mere few inches below where we take for granted is our "modern" roads.
