Bray railway station is looking much better.

Is that a mosaic or painted Rocker?
Posted: Tue Mar 17, 2015 5:18 pm
They were paintings but over the past few years they are
slowly being made into mosaics. You can sponsor the change
if you have the readies. They really brighten up the station.

I'm really pushing the boundaries here but anyone in Greystones might be interested in this tonight. McDonalds the famous burger people,
McDonald's are setting up a focus group in Greystones to help them determine what customers would like on the Greystones menu.
Been a bit classier than the average mcdonalds we are lobbying for them to have a gourmet burger on the menu. And as a community we are pushing for opening 24 hours if possible.
Come down and let your voice be heard
Venue- The Happy Pear
My Greystones pals posted this on facebook today.

McDonald's are setting up a focus group in Greystones
Boycott them from the Village completely.

A bit of opposition to it down here at the moment. Mc Donalds's have received planning permission for a drive-in restaurant within a hundred metres of 3 schools, won't be going, but I imagine it could be a lively meeting. Mc Donald's are like any business they will locate in the place where they'll do the most business.

Sorry Rocker but I have to agree. "focus group" sounds nice, me arse, exactly though, focusing on the demographic down there to try and sweeten them up, no pun. Obesity is out of control and that scumbag corporation are just luring people into some kind of community spirit to get the go-ahead, and in The Happy Pear? I thought they were a nutritional restaurant/cafe?
A gourmet burger? Jazez are the locals going to fall for that?

This year I thought I would look in on the T.V programme Operation Transformation, a weight loss, sort of reality show. A lot of it is cringeworthy but, there is also some good advice. The new doctor is Ciara kelly who is a G.P in Greystones and the best bit for me was to see that one of the groups participating in the group effort is the Bray Musical Society. I know some of the members of this great vibrant society and wish them well !!!

Just saw on FB that the Happy Pear Restaurant in Greystones is looking for staff. Wouldn't I love to work with those two gorgeous young men....but, they would beat me off as a grasping granny!!

Just down there this afternoon and the queues outside the Happy Pear were unreal. It looks to me if they want to deal with the crowds they will need to employ about 20 people,so get your application in Rocker, I might even have a go meself and me and you could make another Happy Pair.

I really must get out and about more. The other night on Nationwide they showed the Mermaid in Bray. I thought it was just a run down theatre and didn't know where it was but.......it is a state of the art space just off the main street and there are all kinds of exhibitions, shows, cinema etc held there as well as what looked like a decent coffee venue..check it out

While I was googling this morning I came across the Bray Historical Society and their next talk,
"Bray Cualann Historical Society
Our next talk takes place on Thursday 18th May 2017 at 8 pm at The Royal Hotel, Bray. Guest Speaker Michael Lee will talk about his great grandfather Edward Lee and will also have some interesting photographs of the interior of Edward Lee’s Bray store. So if you know anyone who worked please feel free to let them know."

Fabulous shot Micheál. What a lens! I got the worst possible dots with my poor camera...but, the house shook when the big ones went over!!It is a spectacular event and the weather held bright and sunny.

I went to the Air Show for the First time last Sunday, I usually just watch the planes fly over from The Back Garden,
Have to say it was amazing the weather was just fab which made the day all the more enjoyable, they say there were over 90,000 people at it.
We had great food in The Martello and stayed on for drinks till late, met some lovely people and it made my day when we got to meet the pilots of The Royal Jordanian Falcons, I even got a Selfie with one of them

Nothing but good reports about the show. The good weather certainly made for
a great day out.
