That is one great photo Grammer.

Looks like a Summer wedding. Some of the guests have buttonholes.
The background intrigues me. Are those chimneys? Would the guests be up on a veranda somewhere ? Hope someone can identify anyone.

I thought that Rocker. Gotta be a row of Cottages in the background and the folks are on some little grassy slope because they wouldn't be lying or kneeling on concrete would they? Gotta be a wedding. Curious photo though.

Here we go again. Mystery row of Cottages. :D

Unusual photo. It does look like a wedding photo.

I don't recognise anybody in it - sorry.

Unusual photo alright. It looks as if they are against a garden wall, the telegraph pole is on the far side of the cottages, so we're looking at the back of the cottages, so the wall is possibly a back garden wall. Strange sort of a wedding photo, the only one who looks as if she might be a bride is kneeling. I wonder if it's an extended family group? The guy with his head in the girl's lap looks quite a character, particularly as everybody else looks quite formal, even the young guys wearing what look like plimsoles at the right front. Eleven men and twenty two women, including the young boy and girl - ( gotta fancy your chances with those odds :D ), From the clothes and hair stlyles it looks like the 1920's, maybe the shortage of men due to the war????

I think this photo is after the Second World War - look at the frock lengths.
Hair styles are more 1940's as well.

What's on the back of the photo?
Print manufacturer?
Developers Stamp?
Number?

Some great family likness in photo. That girl with the man's hat is very like the lady behind her and the younger girl is like the lady , second row with the light coloured hat behind the girl with the man's hat (real Blackrock way of explaining!!).

Were any of the mother-in-laws people from Blackrock ...that lady with the vee neck dress third row (kindly smile) is the image of the late Kathleen Byrne.

Even though some of the lads have flowers in buttonholes I think it is too casual for a wedding. Most ladies wore a hat, begged, borrow or steal to a wedding.

Photo seems a little odd - looks like a wedding without the groom - perhaps he's the horizontal one in front and one of those in hats is the bride.
And why does it seem that most people are looking to the right of the photographer? It would have been very rare to have 2 cameras at an event in those days

Been pondering over the photo and maybe getting a little closer to finding out -who-where and when.

Sisters or mother and daughters?
